Dance Evaluation System (D.E.S)

Many parents ask why it is important for children to take part in exams. At Abstract Dance Academy we think exams help children set goals, and the feedback they receive for these evaluations gives them a sense of accomplishment for the grade they are currently attending .

Exams are done at the studio during regular class time, with their regular teachers, with the addition of an examiner conducting each dancers evaluation. Doing an evaluation this way makes the exam experience less stressful for the dancer while providing valuable feedback on their progress each season.

All participants will receive a certificate of achievement , as well as a written evaluation for each discipline. Each dancer also receives a medal of participation which will be presented at our year end show. This is a great way to see your child acknowledged for their years work.
